For over 20 years I have been making an annual pilgrimage to New Zealand, to participate in a Yellowtail Kingfish tournament. Adults fish 6Kg line class and a good fish is around 15kg, a winning fish usually 20+ Kg. Often fishing shallow water with reef, kelp, cray pots and other hazards, everything is in the favour of the fish. To make the most of your opportunities, when you hook up, you need the utmost confidence in your gear. Platypus pre test gives me that confidence. I know it’s not going to let me down. Good knot strength, abrasion resistance and the right amount of stretch. But it’s not going to break over line class. That’s why I use Platypus.
